The research team of the NRFU project "Development of New Materials Based on Supramolecular Systems for Biomedical and Veterinary Applications" invites researchers, graduate students, and students to participate in the scientific seminar "Chemistry Beyond the Molecule" and to discuss the latest advancements in supramolecular chemistry.
The event will take place on December 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM (hybrid format: Small Hall, 5th floor, and via Zoom) as part of a special session of the Kharkiv Chemical Seminar (Kharkiv Chemical Seminar).
The main goal of the seminar is to introduce the Ukrainian scientific community to the latest advancements in supramolecular chemistry and to present the NRFU project being carried out by the Institute of Chemistry of Functional Materials at the SSI "Institute for Single Crystals" of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. This project not only involves conducting scientific research but also includes the acquisition of new equipment and the development of infrastructure to support cutting-edge studies in supramolecular chemistry.
During the seminar, the key objectives of the project will be outlined, and an overview of the work being done in this field by other researchers in Ukraine will be provided.
The seminar will feature the following presentations:
1. Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU), Valentyn Chebanov – Opening speech on the seminar and the project.
2. PhD student at the Institute of Functional Materials Chemistry, SSI "Institute for Single Crystals" of NASU, Daria Miasnikova – "Supramolecular Chemistry: From Fundamental Principles to Innovative Solutions."
3. Deputy Director for Scientific Work at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics of NASU, Academician of NASU, Serhii Dziadevych – "Electrochemical Enzyme Biosensors and Their Practical Applications."
4. Deputy Director of the Institute of Functional Materials Chemistry, SSI "Institute for Single Crystals" of NASU, PhD in Chemistry, Olesia Kulyk – "Supramolecular Complexes Based on Fluorescent Compounds: Prospects for Developing Advanced Materials."
5. Leading Researcher at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics of NASU, Corresponding Member of NASU, Tetiana Serhiieva – "Molecularly Imprinted Polymers as an Alternative to Natural Antibodies and Receptors in Analytical Biotechnology."
6. Head of the Laboratory of Biomedical Research at the Institute of Organic Chemistry of NASU, Doctor of Chemistry, Roman Rodik – "Supramolecular Nanoassociates of Calixarenes for Biomolecule Transport."
