During the week of September 16 to 20, the XXVI Ukrainian Conference on Organic and Bioorganic Chemistry took place at Uzhhorod National University. The conference brought together leading scientists, PhD students, and students from various regions of Ukraine to exchange experiences and achievements in the fields of synthesizing new compounds, studying their properties, developing analytical methods, and applying them in medicine, pharmaceuticals, and agrochemistry. The event was held in person, but one special session was conducted online for those presenters who were unable to travel to Uzhhorod.

One of the largest delegations at the conference was represented by the team from SSI "Institute for Single Crystals", specifically scientists from the Institute of Functional Materials Chemistry (IFMC). The delegation included 14 researchers, led by the institute's director, Prof. Valentyn Chebanov, along with other professors, PhD holders, graduate students, and undergraduates.

Among the participants from the IFMC were the researchers of the 'SupraKha' project — Yana Sakhno, Rostyslav Svoyakov, and Daria Miasnikova — who presented poster presentations with the results of their research.

The achievements of Ukrainian scientists were reflected in 80 oral and approximately 90 poster presentations. In particular, the scientists from the SSI "Institute for Single Crystals" presented 1 plenary, 5 oral, and 9 poster presentations on various topics. All the presentations by our colleagues, which covered a wide range of themes (including X-ray structural analysis, dyes and luminescent materials, the creation of pharmaceuticals, classical organic synthesis, and quantum and theoretical chemistry), sparked great interest among many specialists. Furthermore, the ensuing scientific discussions fostered the establishment of new contacts, which we hope will serve as a foundation for initiating and developing new projects in the future.

Such events serve as an effective scientific and educational platform that connects experienced scientists with young people who see their future in science.
